Details:
- Karklins (in Fiat CR.1 #9) and the Squadron Commander Zarins (in Fiat CR.1 #16) were en route
from Spilve to Daugavpils for combined aviation exercises being held there.
- About 5 km from Jumpravas station Karklins engine began to misfire and
he had to find a place to land immediately. He selected the right shore
of the Daugava near the highway, and crashed heavily. The aircraft flipped
over, and the pilot was lifted from the plane unconscious.
